When All Else Fails.

09.19.11

Ever had one of those days when every thing is going horribly? It’s raining outside, you have a migraine, you’re late for work or school, or whatever… Yeah, well today is one of those days. Essay not done, praying to God that the professor will have mercy on me, exhausted from the weekend, too much homework,  and on top of that, a spiritual life and a relationship to maintain.

I’m sure we’ve all begged the question “Why me?” I’m sure we’ve all pleaded to God  to give us a break or a better day or if we could have one more hour, we’d be okay.  Ever wonder why God is giving you these tests? (By the way, in case you haven’t realized it yet, these are tests.)  Apparently, you haven’t learned something yet. Have you been praying for patience? Have you been working toward the fruits of the spirit?

Yes?  I know I have. Even with all my resistance, I know that I cannot challenge God and win.  When all else fails, we need to stop what we’re doing before we get too far gone and caught up in our malice, annoyance, or what have you and get on our knees and pray. Thank God for all He has given you. Praise Him for giving you another day and for allowing the rain to shower upon you and cleanse your soul. Send up a broken hallelujah and beg for forgiveness. Plead that He make you whole and new again and charge you with the wonder and strength that you need to get through the day.

I will make it my personal goal to send up as many hallelujahs as possible. Broken or not.
